Common Usability Pitfalls
Complex interfaces: non logical interface, information needs to be organized,
filtering the content so its less confusing
Confusing navigation: lack of search functionality, inconsistent layout
Lack of Clear CTAs: unclear call to action leads user to miss chances for
engagement
Inadequate error handling: error occur and no clear instructions for users to
understand what they need to do
Key Principles of Usability
1. Consistency
- Consistent=User friendly : use the same navigation, color, etc so users can instinctively know where to look for things
- Cohesive Experience:
- Intuitive Navigation:
- Familiarity and Learnability: consistent layout make users feel familiar and can learn the functions quickly
- Stronger Brand Identity: stronger user identity

- Minimize steps using intuitive and self explanatory interface
- Give less info first, if users need more, provide more.
