V1: footages
V2-V4: text message graphics
A1: ambience sound
A2: text message notification sound effects

Using the editing exercise 2 of Lalin, I refined some of the footage to make the transitions look smoother. I also referred to the original Lalin short film and learned from their editing style.

After that, I used Lumetri Color to perform both color correction and color grading, enhancing the overall mood and visual consistency of the video.

PROCESS WORK

Pre-production:

Figure 2.1 ; Project 2 Shooting Schedule ; Week 5

Production:
Figure 2.2 ; Behind-the-scenes ; Week 6
I was in charge of location sound, working together with boom operator. My responsibility was to carefully monitor the audio to ensure it was clear and to inform the director if there were any unwanted background noises on set. Meanwhile, my other group members focused on their respective roles, and overall, our shoot progressed smoothly.

Post-production:

Figure 2.3.1 ; Footages and Audio ; Week 6
After the shoot, we exported all the footage and audio files to Google Drive.

I then began the editing process in Premiere Pro.

REFLECTION

For Lalin, I referred closely to the original Lalin video as a guide. The process felt like piecing together a puzzle, and when I finally finished the edit, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. It was also really fun experimenting with color grading, and I want to give a shoutout to the seniors who shot the footage, they did an amazing job and made the editing process so enjoyable.

For EEAAO shooting:

Pre‑production: Our director and assistant director were very thoughtful in planning and constantly reminded everyone of what we needed to prepare.
Production: I was initially assigned to handle lighting, but because the person responsible for location sound was absent, I stepped in to take over that role. It turned out to be a very cool experience. It was my first time using a headset, and I had to stay constantly alert, ready to inform the director whenever disruptive background noises occurred.
Since group projects are rare in our course, this was also a great opportunity to get to know my classmates better. Everyone was proactive and willing to share their ideas, which made the process much more enjoyable and efficient. A special thanks to our director, Michelle, who not only guided us well throughout the shoot but also thoughtfully prepared bread and sticky notes for everyone afterward.
Post‑production: I spent quite a long time editing, as unlike Lalin, we didn’t have a reference sample to follow. Despite that challenge, I’m very satisfied with the final outcome and proud of what we accomplished together.
